This video is a collection of clips of birds captured in my backyard. The video location is about 1.5 km away from the Kandy town centre. This aim of this video is to entice Birdwatchers and Eco-Tourist from around the world to visit Sri Lanka. The clips were shot over a period of few hours, which is proof of the abundance of unspoilt nature in the little Island of Sri Lanka.
The video features the Scarlet (Orange) Minivet, Oriental Magpie Robin, Indian (Common) Myna, Ceylon Wood Pigeon, Red Vented Bulbul, Purple Rumped Sunbird, Ceylon White Eye, Ceylon Woodshrike, Greater Coucal and Ceylon Rufous (Orange-billed) Babbler.
Tourism is vital to the economy of Sri Lanka, specially since it is recovering from over three decades of war. Tourism would help to strengthen the Nations economy to usher in an era of Peace and Stability to small Island nation of very friendly, hospitable and smiling people. Sri Lanka has something to offer every Traveller and is undoubtedly "A Paradise of Diversity and Wonders". Year 2011 is the "Visit Sri Lanka Year".
Sri Lanka welcomes you all to an incredible experience!
